City Council To Hold Public Hearing On Proposed Budget For Fiscal Year 2020-21

The City of Portland will be hosting its first ever virtual public budget hearing on the Mayor’s Proposed Budget next Tuesday, May 12th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Interested members of the public may sign up to provide testimony by completing the form on the City Budget Office’s website here:  https://www.portlandoregon.gov/cbo/article/759213. In order to facilitate streamlined virtual participation, requests to participate must be submitted by 4pm this Friday, May 8th.  

The Council will be convening as the Budget Committee for this hearing. City Budget Office Director Jessica Kinard will provide a brief overview of the budget process and how it has evolved with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and its effect on the economy. Mayor Ted Wheelerwill deliver his message on the Fiscal Year 2020-21 Proposed Budget. The remainder of the hearing is reserved for public comment on the Mayor’s Proposed Budget.

The meeting is available to the public on the City's YouTube Channel, eGov PDX, www.portlandoregon.gov/video, and Channel 30.
