Service
All plots are offered on a sliding scale. We offer up to 90% assistance to gardeners. The discount amount is selected by the gardener based on their need. Plot fees are for the garden season which runs November 1 - October 31 each year.

The form will take less than five minutes to complete. Applications are typically processed within 5 business days.

There are several ways to submit a scholarship application; online, by email, mail, or over the phone.

City of Portland residents can register for a free Access Pass to receive an ongoing discount of 25, 50, 75, or 90% based on financial need. The pass is valid for 12 months from the date of enrollment. No proof of income is required. If you have Access Pass, you do not need to submit a scholarship application.

Non-residents are not eligible for the Access Pass but can receive plot fee assistance through a Community Gardens fund dedicated to scholarships.

After your application is submitted, staff will review your request and send you an updated invoice. Please allow up to one week for processing.

If you do not already have a garden plot you must submit a Garden Plot Request Form to be added to the waitlist. Submitting a scholarship form does NOT add you to the waitlist.
