These times are incredibly stressful for everyone. We weep for the world. We worry for loved ones, no matter where they are. We worry for our local music family.

Music was already a tough way to make a living - before life changed forever. We’ll also be hosting a webinar soon to talk about the challenges facing music businesses, including sole proprietors who are pursuing relief through the SBA Payroll Protection Program or Economic Impact Disaster Loan. Look for info on that in the coming week.

The webinar is for those of you who are self-employed and looking for estimates and projections about what your relief will look like. We dove into the nitty gritty with charts and all. If you’re not self-employed, consider sharing this with your friends who are.

Even with the best intentions, the CARES Act is being implemented to serve the situations that policymakers understand. Lawmakers have no idea about some of the unique ways that music professionals support themselves...unless we tell them.
