Barbur Transit Center

Information
Redevelopment of the Barbur Transit Center will be affected by the light rail station location. Two draft concepts are presented for public input.

The two Barbur Transit Center development concepts are slightly different: one station would be situated in the middle of Barbur (center-running station); the other would run alongside the southern edge of Barbur (side-running station).

Center-running station concept

Center-running station: 

  • Could allow for more open space to be developed on the site. 
  • Creates a shorter pedestrian crossing from the north of Barbur but longer from the south side.

Side-running station concept

Side-running station: 

  • Could allow for a unique building design and more timely construction to occur with the light rail project. 
  • Could be designed to better connect to bus service.
