The Design Overlay Amendments Project was moving through the Planning and Sustainability Commission process and on its way to the Design Commission when the shelter-in-place order was decreed. But the project team has made considerable progress on refining the DOZA proposals while working from home.

With new virtual meeting technology in place, the PSC and Design Commission will begin meeting again to discuss the proposed zoning code and design guidelines.

Due to the physical distancing requirements, meetings will be held virtually for the time being. The first meeting was a PSC work session on April 28 to discuss commissioners’ suggestions for the zoning code amendments. You can watch the work session at the PSC’s Youtube channel.

Additional work sessions with both commissions are planned for June, at which point they will make their final recommendation to City Council. The PSC’s recommendation will be on zoning code and map amendments; the Design Commission’s will be on the Citywide Design Guidelines.
