On May 1, 2020, the area of Southwest Portland between SW Naito Parkway and the Willamette River will become South Portland. Along with Southwest, Northwest, North, Northeast and Southeast, the new South Portland will become Portland's Sixth Sextant.
Addresses in this area will change from SW to S, and addresses with leading zeros will drop the zero (ex. 0123 SW Fake St will become 123 S Fake St).
The South Portland Address Project has been led and managed by PBOT since it was approved by City Council in Ordinance No. 188995 on June 6, 2018. Final notices of address changes were mailed to properties in the project area in late April 2020.
If you live, work, or own property in South Portland, or if you are getting a permit for a site in South Portland, please be aware that addresses have changed. Visit the PBOT website SixthSextant.com for more information.
Questions about the project from members of the public should be directed to Andrew Aebi, South Portland Addressing Project Manager at 503-823-5648.
