BDS Employee greeting a customer in the Permit Center.

The City of Portland began using AMANDA, an upgraded permitting software, on February 10, 2020. AMANDA provides flexibility and a modern, web-based interface that can be easily updated as new versions of the software become available. More upgrades means more efficiencies for our staff and for you, our customers.

In order to get ready for the software migration, we adjusted our hours in the Development Services Center from Dec. 19 through February. We appreciate your patience during this time as staff completed training and simulations using AMANDA. Thanks to all of the hard work and preparation, we had an uneventful launch of AMANDA that did not cause any unplanned interruptions.

We are returning to our normal business hours in March, which means the Development Services Center and 2nd Floor Permitting Services Counter will be open on Thursdays again starting on March 5, 2020. Residential Permit Night resumes on March 5, 2020, too.

Help is available for customers who previously used TRACS and need support using AMANDA. Click here for instructions on how to use our new permitting system. Each document gives specific instructions to search for permits and people, search properties, and more.

Thank you for your patience during this transition to our new, better permitting software.
